Forum: A New Future for Urban Agriculture in Building Sustainable Communities

This forum will present the growing trend in Japan of using sustainable agriculture as a way to build communities. Focus will be placed on the importance of "satoyama" (traditional sustainable agriculture) methods to create a balance between ecology, community and economy in Japan's urban and suburban areas. This forum will be of great interest to organizations and individuals hoping to learn about Japanese environmental protection effort, sustainable agriculture and non-profit activities. Cosponsored with Japan Pacific Resource Network, Japan-U.S. Community Education and Exchange, San Francisco Neighborhood Parks Council, The Japan Society of Northern California. Greenpal Project is funded by the Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership (CGP). It's a FREE event and drinks and light food will be served.
